A Year in Review with Flourishes

Hello everyone,

Today, I am over on the Flourishes blog revisiting one of my favourite cards that I created in the past year with one of my favourite Flourishes stamp sets, Winter Blooms.

Let’s take a look:

I just LOVE the poinsettia image from the Winter Blooms set. It is so beautiful and perfect for a traditional Christmas card. Here, I used it in a less traditional way which is one of the reasons that it is a favourite. I love the graphic pop of the hot pink on the white background. The poinsettias were coloured using Copic markers and the centres of the flowers were embellished using tiny gold beads to add a special touch.

Here is what the stamp set looks like:

Such a beautiful set designed by Beverly Cole – I know I will be using this set for years to come!

Anyway, thank you for visiting – I hope you enjoyed your stay!

Flourishes Friday Blog Hop – Monochromatic

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the Flourishes Friday Blog Hop. If you have arrived from Linda’s blog, then you are in the right place. If not, please head on over to the Flourishes Blog to start from the beginning.

This week, Linda has challenged the team to create a monochromatic project.

Let’s take a look at what I came up with:

I decided to use the poinsettia image from Winter Blooms which I stamped onto vellum using Versamark and heat embossed in gold. I then fussy-cut the image out and mounted it on top of a frame which was cut using Flourishes Tailor-Made Classic Keyhole Die Set. The sentiment was stamped onto a sentiment strip which was cut using the same die set and popped up on top of the frame. This was then mounted on top of some monochromatic red and cream coloured Christmas-themed patterned papers. I added some gold twine and was done!

Flourishes Friday Blog Hop – Get Sentiment-al!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the Flourishes Friday Blog Hop. If you have arrived from Linda’s blog, then you are in the right place. If not, please head on over to the Flourishes Blog to start from the beginning.

This week, Linda has challenged the team to ‘Get Sentiment-al’.

Let’s take a look at my project:

And an even closer look (LOL):

I decided to do something a little different, this time and created something a little more CAS than my usual style. I stamped the poinsettia image from Winter Blooms multiple times over my card stock panel using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then coloured the poinsettias using Copic Markers in a fuchsia colour. I usually am not a big fan of pink (unless for a baby girl) but, I just LOVE how the poinsettias turned out! Something a little different than I’d usually go for and it creates such amazing graphic POP with the black outlines and the white background! However, I still wanted to let the sentiment take centre stage so, I stamped the sentiment, which is from Christmas Classics, onto piece of vellum using Versamark and heat-embossed in gold. Then, I cut the sentiment out using a flag die. By embossing the sentiment in gold and by making the poinsettia panel a sort of background, I think I was able to make the sentiment stand out. After attaching the sentiment flag, I added some tiny gold beads to the centres of the poinsettias for extra detail and interest. Finally, I attached the panel to my card base and added a touch of my favourite embellishment – gold twine!

Flourishes September Release Day 3 – Winter Blooms

Hello and welcome to Day 3 of the Flourishes LC Release for September!

If you have arrived from Linda’s blog, you are in the right place. If not, please see the Blog Hop List below to start from the beginning.

Today, we are welcoming another fabulous new member to the Flourishes Family, Tricia Traxler. I am so looking forward to seeing her designs using Flourishes stamps!

Today, we are showcasing a new stamp set called Winter Blooms. This is another amazing stamp set designed by my fellow Senior Design Team member, Beverly Cole.

Here is what I created:

This was such a simple card to make. I simply coloured the poinsettia image using Copic markers and fussy-cut the image. I then popped it up on the Flourishes Tailor-Made Classic Keyhole Die. I cut the sentiment (from another Flourishes stamp set) out using the smaller die-cut from the Classic Keyhole Die set. I added some a gold twine bow and mounted the image on a patterned paper background. Last, I added some red rhinestones to the centre of the poinsettias to give them some sparkle!
