Flourishes Free For All Friday – Rustic Christmas

Hello, everyone!

Today I’m here with a Free For All Friday post for Flourishes. I decided to go for a rustic Christmas look using the Harp stamp set.

Here is what I came up with:

RusticChristmas-3-edited

I heat-embossed the harp image using Stampendous Aged Embossing Powder in Ivory onto a woodgrain patterned paper. This embossing powder gives a very cool aged or vintage effect as it has a varied texture (fine to chunky) and also has some chunky gold embossing powder and glitter in it. After embossing the image, I sprinkled some of the embossing powder onto the surrounding patterned paper to add some white flecks. It helps to apply the heat from the underside of the card stock instead of from above as this can blow the embossing powder right off of the paper! This is especially helpful with chunky embossing powders. Next, I embellished with some gold and ivory baker’s twine, a small die-cut tag, and some enamel dots. The tag was attached with gold twine. The sentiment is from the Poinsettia stamp set which is currently on SALE in the store for only $10!
Well, that’s all I have to share with you, today, folks.

Thank you so much for stopping by – I hope you enjoyed your stay!

Hello everyone!

Today, I am showcasing a card that I made using the On the Porch stamp set which, along with most of the other stamps in the Flourishes Store, is on SALE for just $10! That’s right, every stamp set in the store (with the exception of just a few sets) is on SALE – most of them for only $10!

Here is my card:

I coloured the image using Copic Markers and cut-out the image using Spellbinders. Before removing the die-cut from the die, I sponged the image using an ink blending tool with Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass. I then mounted this on a green die-cut card stock circle, added some seam binding, a pearl, and a cute sentiment (also from On the Porch). That’s it! Easy-peasy!

Alright, now it’s time for you to head on over to the store and go on a shopping spree! Hurry, though, because the sale ends this Sunday!

Thank you SO much for stopping on by…I hope you enjoyed your stay!

Kids Play Corner Bookmark

Hello everyone!

Today, I have something different to share with you! I decided to make a corner bookmark to coordinate with a birthday card that I previously made using the Kids Play stamp set. Even better, this stamp is currently on SALE in the store!

Here it is:

I used a tutorial that Beate Johns did for Split Coast Stampers, years ago. She always did AMAZING tutorials and even though she is no longer doing them, I still love to review the many tutorials she created.

Anyway, thank you so much for visiting – I hope you enjoyed your stay!

Flourishes August Release Day 4 – Greatest Gift

Hello and welcome to Day 4 of the Flourishes LC Release for August!

If you have arrived from Nancy’s Blog, then you are in the right place. If not, please see the Blog Hop List below to start from the beginning.

Today is the last day of the new release and we are showcasing a new stamp set called Greatest Gift. This is where I departed from my theme that I had for my first three cards. It is a Christmas stamp set but, as it was my 1st wedding anniversary a couple of days ago, I needed an anniversary card for my husband. Therefore, I decided to show the versatility of this stamp set and made an anniversary card.

Here is what I came up with:

GreatestGift-edited

GreatestGift-2-edited GreatestGift-3-editedIt turned out quite feminine considering this was for my husband but, he still liked it and it really does show how this stamp set can be used for something completely out of the realm of Christmas!

Are you starting to see a theme, here? I approached this release with a certain theme in mind. I’ve stuck to heat-embossing the images in gold and using a cream, kraft, and red colour them. It just seemed to work for me with the images. Once the image was heat-embossed onto the cream coloured card stock, I cut the image out using a square Spellbinders die and matted that overtop of another Spellbinders die-cut. The image was then mounted on some patterned papers from Teresa Collins and embellished with sequins, some cream and gold baker’s twine, and a cute little sentiment tag (the sentiment is from the Flourishes Poinsettia stamp set which is on SALE and the die is from Spellbinders).

GloryToGod-edited

GloryToGod-3-editedI heat-embossed the image in gold onto some cream coloured card stock and cut the image out. The image was then mounted on some patterned paper from My Mind’s Eye. Next, I cut-out some small sentiment flags from matching papers and also embellished using some stickers from Teresa Collins, some gold adhesive-backed flags (also from Teresa Collins), and finished it all off with a little gold twine.

Flourishes August Release Day 1 – Christmas Tree

Hello and welcome to Day 1 of the Flourishes LC Release for August!

If you have arrived from Nancy’s Blog, you are in the right place. If not, please see the Blog Hop List below to start from the beginning.

Today, we are showcasing a new stamp set called Christmas Tree. The name is pretty self-explanatory so, without further ado, let’s take a look at my project…

ChristmasTree-2-edited

This image is a beautiful flourished Christmas tree which I heat embossed in gold onto some velum. The velum was then layered over some beautiful Teresa Collins patterned paper and attached using the Tim Holtz tiny attacher. I embellished using some matching sentiment stickers, added some cream and gold baker’s twine, some matching sequins, and voila!

Love, Life, and Lemons

Hello, everyone!
Today, I’ve used a wonderful botanical stamp set, Love, Life, and Lemons. I’ve always LOVED this set and I thought the lemons, being so bright and cheery, were perfect for summer! Furthermore, you’re in luck, because this set is a steal of a deal, on sale right now, for $12.99!

Here is my project:

Lemons-edited

I coloured the lemon image using Copic Sketch Markers, fussy cut it by hand, and popped the image up on a patterned paper panel using foam tape. The panel was then mounted on a patterned paper mat and the card was finished off very simply with some baker’s twine, enamel dots, and a cute tag which was sponged with Distress Ink in Scattered Straw using the Ranger Ink Blending Tool.

Don’t forget that Flourishes is having a HUGE SALE now through July 31st!

Just Chill

Hello, everyone!

This week, I have another card using Kids Play. Can you tell that I LOVE this set? I just can’t tell you enough how awesome these silhouette images are and how amazing they are for when you want to create a quick card!

It’s my father-in-law’s birthday, today – so, I thought I’d make him a birthday card.

Here is what I created:

JustChill-edited

I kept this card quite simple just adding a cute sentiment tag, a bit of twine, and some enamel dots to embellish. The main image was cut out using a Spellbinders Classic Circle die and sponged with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Scattered Straw using a Ranger Ink Blending Tool.

Don’t forget that Flourishes is having a HUGE SALE right now, as well. The sale will continue all the way through to the end of the month!

Big Sale

Anyway, thank you so much for dropping by – I hope you enjoyed your visit!
